Happy Inauguration Day

I know I'm a day late, but oh well.

One of the blessings for which I am most grateful is the fact that I live in this country. There are many great things about this country, but one of the greatest is the peaceful transfer of power established by the Constitution. You don't have to look too far to find places in the world where the leaders refuse to give up power or abide by democratic elections.
Anyway, here's to America, elections, and peace!

I think overall Obama gave a very good speech. I like some of the moves he has made so far but I worry when he says things like how we need to work to 'remake America'. I'm pretty sure my idea of how America needs to be remade doesn't exactly match his idea. And so while the overall tone of his speech was inspiring, it's what he meant by his ambiguous phrases that concern me.

Sorry, nothing beats...
"...we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around. When yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy, say amen. Say amen.”

(Side note- Only on the third link did I find the yellow bit not edited out.)
