The Wisdom of Calvin

I already feel like most of my current experiences are stories with no point. But is there really no point or value in Calvin's dad's reminiscence?

Maybe to remind the next generation that we've been alive for A LOT longer than they have, and are therefore much more experienced. It also reminds us that we are quickly becoming obsolete. Keeps everyone humble all around.

I believe Calvin's father is using the image of the escalator itself as a metaphor for a postmodern commentary on the revisionary process of history itself, continually cycling and yet composed through the imposition of "gaps" or theoretical aporias upon the fabric of the space-time continuum.

Hee hee hee.
